Game Rules#

Introduction#

Galactic Empires must be a fair game, many games were ruined in the past because of cheaters and administrator's passivity. So rules will be taken very seriously and will be enforced strongly in order to preserve the fun and credibility of the game.

If you are in doubt of any of the points below or have been banned, please contact an administrator on discord. Note that complaints and inquiries regarding particular accounts will only be disclosed to their owners for privacy reasons.

Multi-Accounting#

Each player is allowed to control a single account. If two or more accounts are usually, occasionally, or permanently being played from the same player, they will be permanently banned.

Account Sharing#

Each account is entitled to be played by a single player at a time. An account could be shared under the following conditions:

- Admin must be notified before and frequency of usage and other significant details.

- An account may only be shared for a maximum period of 2 consecutive days.

Exploit Abuse#

Using a bug for anyone's benefit intentionally or not reporting a bug deliberately is strictly forbidden. You must report any bug you find. Exploit abuse will be punished with a permanent ban.

Scripting#

Using a program as interface between the player and the game is prohibited. Any other forms of automatically generated information that is generated for the purpose of providing a group of players an advantage or programs with malicious intention are forbidden as well.

This includes but is not limited to:

- Bots - Macros - Automated galaxy databases.

Scripting will be punished with a permanent ban.

Proxies#

The use of a proxy or any method with the purpose of hiding your identity in the games interface is forbidden. The use of a proxy or similar with the purpose of being able to create a link between the game and the player in cases which would be not be possible in any other case is allowed only after notifying it.

Spam#

Any situation intended to saturate a players interface through any method is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to:

- Personal Messages spam - Probes spam - Forum spam

Spam will be punished with temporal ban or permanently ban depending on the seriousness of the facts.

Content#

Anything that causes offence by being of an unacceptable quality that may hurt an individuals integrity is strictly forbidden. The standards in the game environment will be set by the game team to meet the users moral views. Content might be censured, punished in a temporary or permanent basis; no complaints will be processed about this and as always the final word will be with the game team.

Public accusation without proof is not allowed. If you find someone that you suspect of breaking the rules contact a admin on discord.

Rules about content#

1. English is the official language of Galactic Empires.

2. The forum has sections for everything you need on Galactic Empires. Please open the threads in their corresponding section. If you want to publish something that is not Galactic Empires related (if not in conflict with the rules here) you should do so in the off-topic sections. If you think there is need for a new section you can always suggest it in the section "Board Suggestions" and we will be happy to read it.

3. Search before publishing, especially in the help section, it is possible that what you're going to ask has already been raised before.

4. Choose descriptive titles. Try to make the title as descriptive as possible, so others can know what to expect in your post. Avoid titles like: "I need help".

5. Any lack of respect for users and moderators is strictly forbidden. Every human being deserves respect. We allow criticism of course, but always with respect.

6. Spam is prohibited. Do not answer compulsively and meaninglessly. Your answers should have a minimum of content and not just a "lol" and should be relevant to the topic. If you forget to say something in a post edit it, don't post again.

7. You are not allowed to post messages with obscene or offensive content.

8. This forum is a community of users of an online game where could engage people of all ages so avoid content that is unsuitable for children.

9. Any illegal content will be deleted directly and the owner will be punished with a ban (permanent or temporary) depending on the seriousness of what was posted.

10. It's mandatory to maintain a minimum of clarity in all forum posts. Try to avoid SMS language messages. Abbreviations are accepted from time to time but only ones that we can all understand).

11. Writing on the Internet with CAPITAL LETTERS is equivalent to shouting. We will read you the same (or better) if you enter a correct use of capitalization.

12. No swearing in any forum posts.

13. Any user with a normal level of forum permission (i.e. not a moderator or Admin) does not have the automatic right to create an announcement or sticky thread. If you wish for a thread to be an announcement/sticky, make a pm to a staff member (preferably moderator as Admin is busy) regarding the reason why, and the thread in question.

14. Do not make public accusations about players that you suspect of multi-accounting, exploiting bugs or otherwise breaching the in-game rules. Any suspicions should be sent via a private message to Admin with any evidence that you can provide. Admin will then look into the matter.

15. Try to avoid posting in threads that have been inactive for a long period of time.

Rules about signatures and avatars#

Images are allowed in signatures if they do not exceed 150 pixels high and 500 wide, allowing only one image (or more without the sum of its height reaching the maximum allowed) and, at most, two lines of text.

If the signature is composed only of text, the maximum lines of text will be five (5), the empty spaces between lines are also considered lines.

The avatars will have a size limit of 200 pixels wide and 200 high.

We do not allow avatars or signatures with obscene or offensive content.

Spam in signatures is prohibited.
