Stargates#

Stargates link 2 planets in a range of 30  parsecs  in the same time as 2 planets located in the same system. Both stargates must belong to planets with owned or allied colonies to make possible the link.

When in system view on the map, each stargate will have the mark "(Stargate)". In the planet frame they have the mark "(SG)". In addition, the location coordinates of all Stargate planets are followed by an asterisk (*) which must be included when specifying location in fleet movements or resource transfers.

Stargates are a strategic thing to control because they allow distant systems to be connected within a short time span, allowing you to send reinforcements and resources in less time. Any planets within two separate stargate systems have a distance of 0 parsecs when transferring resources because of the link provided by the stargates. This benefit is lost if the stargate is owned by a hostile or neutral player.

A player can move fleets through any stargate belonging to their empire or an ally of their empire. It is also possible to transfer resources to a stargate owned by a trading partner for a reduced cost.

It is a good idea to establish a stargate network within your empire and alliance that allow the rapid transit of fleets and resources across vast distances.
